It’s always motivating when a Nigerian is in the news for achieving something positive. Mufutau Akuruyejo is the first Nigerian to receive the CERN ICT training where he will participate in the nine-week openlab programme courtesy of MTN Foundation and Oracle. He left Lagos for Switzerland on Saturday to receive the training and hopefully become certified by Oracle.
Mufutau is a 500 level undergraduate of UNILAG and he emerged as the only Nigerian from over 1,500 students all over the world that applied for the scheme.
Here are some pictures of an excited Mufutau at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos before he boarded his flight.
MTNF and Oracle are passionate about boosting ICT skills in Nigerian students and Mufutau is one of the many beneficiaries.
The purpose of this programme is to accelerate the development of cutting edge solutions to be used by the worldwide LHC (large hadron collider) community.
Over 4,900 students from Nigerian Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education have benefited from MTN Foundation’s Science & Technology Scholarship scheme and these students have been awarded scholarships worth hundreds of Millions.
We will keep you updated on the latest updates for Mufutua and wish him all the best on his journey.
