Manchester United news and transfers: Gareth Bale swoop "almost a done deal" reporter tells MUTV

Nani is heading back to Manchester United this summer as the highest-paid reserve in the Premier League.
The winger has been on loan at Sporting Lisbon this season but is returning to Old Trafford this summer because the Portuguese club cannot afford to keep him on.
United agreed to pay Nani's £110,000-a-week wages as part of the deal that saw Sporting allow Argentina World Cup defender Marcos Rojo move in the opposite direction for £16million last summer.

But with Sporting unable to meet Nani's wage demands beyond this season, let alone a transfer fee likely to be in the region of £12m, the 28-year-old will return to Manchester at the end of the campaign.

That will leave United facing the prospect of a £17m bill for the remainder of Nani's contract - given he was handed a new FIVE year deal in September 2013 by then-boss David Moyes.

Nani has already been told by current United manager Louis van Gaal that he does not have a future under him and will only feature in the reserves, and United are desperate to offload the Portugal international on a permanent basis.
Depay vows to become one of world's best

Memphis Depay has his sights set on becoming a Manchester United icon – just like his boyhood hero Cristiano Ronaldo.

Depay became Louis van Gaal's first signing of the summer when United announced a £25million deal with PSV Eindhoven to sign the Dutch winger.

The 21-year-old, who scored 25 goals in 39 appearances for PSV this season to help them land the Dutch title, is regarded as one of the most exciting young players in Europe.

Depay's Dutch team-mate, QPR midfielder Leroy Fer, said this week that United's newest signing could have the same impact as Ronaldo and become a world-beater at Old Trafford.
