Super Eagles invitee and Nigeria Premier League top scorer, Emem Eduok, has said that he is ready to make the best of his soaring reputation.
The Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt’s attacking winger, who has netted 20 goals in the NPL, is currently in the Super Eagles B camp in Uyo ahead of Friday’s international friendly with Black Stars of Ghana scheduled to commission the Uyo International Stadium Complex.
“I certainly cannot ask for more at this time of my career,” Uduok, who spoke to National Mirror from the Eagles’ camp yesterday, remarked.
“A lot of people have expressed fear that all these accolades would pile some pressure on me. But I have felt nothing more than a challenge that I need to meet as I progress forward in my career,” the Akwa Ibom indigene said.
On the task of making an impression in the star-studded Eagles squad, Eduok said: “I think I am not in the national team to make any impression. It is a new start and I know I must prove my worth again. I am very confident that I will give a good account of myself.” Eduok has not only broken the goal scoring record set by Jude Aneke in 2010-11 season, but he also set a new record of scoring six goals in single game this season as Dolphins demolished Nembe City 6-1 in an NPL match in Port Harcourt. Records show that no player has matched the record all over the world in the ongoing season.
