Re-Orientation Of The Young Nigerian Girl Do Not Let Marriage Define Who or What U Want to Be in Life. - Mr. Isdore

THIS IS FOR NIGERIAN WOMEN......I have always pondered on this subject and it beats me that most Nigerian girls/women do not have dreams and aspirations. A friend of mine quoted someone else on her BBM PM saying “ ...and that was when she said that a successful man is a man that makes more money than the wife can spend and a successful woman is a woman that finds such a man.." Nowadays it's more like being a graduate is a per-requisite to marriage for our girls because the trend has made it so.
Ask a typical Nigerian girl undergraduate where she sees herself 10years after graduation and u will be surprised that she hasn't thought about it but I bet u that she must have selected her bridal train, the color and style of the dress she would want her friends to wear on her wedding day a year after graduation even when she doesn't have a boyfriend at the moment. They talk about gender equality yet remove themselves out of the equation in the cause of choosing a husband because the husband according to some of them should provide every damn thing for them and this makes them tend to go for the later between say a N100,000 and a N300,000 monthly salary earners in juxtaposition when their choice should have been a function of love and who supports their dreams i.e if they even have any. Our home videos on the other hand haven't helped matters as they will always tell a story of a young man of say 30years old who owns a duplex and fleet of cars falling head over heels in love with some poor girl and will end up marrying her against all odds. Some of our girls thereafter begin to fantasize without grasping the theme of the movie wishing and hoping that their prince charming will be of such calibrate typified in the movie. I then begin to wonder with the rate of unemployment in this country how many young men at 30 own a duplex and fleet of cars that some of these girls are waiting for. What about our churches? They make our girls feel cursed when they aren't married yet with the kind of message they carry. The message about marriage is synonymous to the message about a young graduate looking for a job. A lady in my neighborhood gave jeep to her pastor in the name of seed sowing in anticipation of a husband. She is trekking now while her pastor is cruising the jeep. Before my crucifixion on this subject, all am preaching is for the re-orientation of the Nigerian girl towards being an achiever and a dream chaser. Men should look for u because u have a lot to offer apart from making babies and do not make answering a man's name is your ultimate priority. Do not let marriage define who or what u want to be in life.
